sculpture series (2001–2002)

I identify with the rocks, projecting onto them psychologically. The containing structures, the cages, are both a support and a trap. In making these pieces I create a feeling or response within myself, so the cairns become bearers of emotional meaning for me. I feel the sculpture somewhere in my body (which is the principle that lead to Squeeze, 2005, and then evolved into the Rocksuit, 2006.)
